Paintball Buying Guide
|
Paintball is one of the fastest growing sports in America. Chances of getting hurt during a game of paintball are really, really low, and according to insurance companies' reports, this is one of the safest sports. But paintball is safe when you buy all the required paintball equipment, which consists of the following components - mask, marker, gloves, paintballs, jersey, gear bags & marker cases, accessories. You can buy complete paintball packages that include the whole equipment you will need, but usually come at a lower price, because you are investing more money at once, and on the same brand. If you are not keen on having all the latest models, the whole paintball equipment can cost you no more than $200. But remember that the most important parts of the equipment are the paintball mask and gun. The mask comes first though. Spend as much as you have to on a good mask. You can even play without a gun, trying to capture the opponents' flag, but the referees won't allow you to play without a mask, because it protects your eyes and ears. Paintball masks are rated using the following characteristics: level of protection; quality of the lens; overall appearance; communication; profile; weight; comfort. The mask should be light so you won't feel its weight when you are running around the field. Make sure you buy an anti-fog paintball mask. The cheaper types just have an anti-fog coating which eventually fades away. The better, but more expensive choice is to buy a mask with thermal lenses - two lens panes separated by a tiny air pocket. Some of the most reputable paintball mask manufacturers are - 32 Degrees, DYE, Empire Paintball Masks, Extreme Rage, JT, PCS, Proto, V Force, Vents. Buying a paintball marker should depend on your level of ability. Popular markers include Kingman markers, Tippmann markers, WGP markers, Angel markers, Bob Long markers, 32 Degrees markers, and Smart Parts markers. If you are a beginner, then probably the best choice for you would be to buy the Tippmann 98. It costs around $100 and it's regarded as the most dependable and rugged paintball gun available on the market today. You can also buy paintball protective gear. Some of the more popular brands here are Dye and JT. The paintball vest protects your kidneys, heart, and back. Cover up chest protectors, neck pads, elbow pads, knee pads. To further improve your game, upgrade your barrel, but make sure the new one matches the paintballs you will use. If you are a more serious player, then why not replace the marker's hopper with a loader, which is essentially a battery-powered motorized hopper. |
